THANK YOU FOR PURCHASING OUR STOCKS!

This page is our onboarding tool to help you get the most out of your GRS product and experience.

How to mount your GRS Rifle stock:

Please follow these steps to install the GRS stock to your rifle.
Be honest with yourself. If you do not feel confident doing this, please ask for help from a GRS dealer or Gunsmith!

YOU NEED THE FOLLOWING TO INSTALL YOUR RIFLE TO THE STOCK

  • Torque wrench

  • The correct bit to sit your action screws

SOME LAMINATE STOCKS ALWAYS NEED GLASS BEDDING OR ADJUSTMENTS BY A QUALIFIED GUNSMITH!

  • Blaser R8 and R93 rifles

  • Voere rifles.

  • Röesslet Titan rifles.

  • Schultz & Larsen rifles.

  • All magnum rifles.

  • Mauser M98 & M67 rifles need fitting for the bolt handle on both laminate and composite stocks!

ONCE YOU HAVE CHECKED THE ABOVE, WE ARE GOOD TO GO!

  • Check that the rifle is unloaded.

  • Remove the magazine and bolt.

  • Loosen and remove the front and rear action screws. (USE THE CORRECT TOOL, SO YOU DO NOT DAMAGE THE SCREWS)

  • Lift out the bottom metal with and magazine well (Hinged bottom metal almost always have a metal magazine well)

  • Lift out the action from the stock, while it is out of the stock, check for rust and debris!

  • Place the action in the GRS stock, line up the recoil lug or slot with the stock and press the action into the stock. (action fit can be snug)

  • While holding the action in place, look from the bottom and see if the action screw holes align with the action screw holes in the stock. If they do not, your action is not placed correctly in the stock.

  • When all lines up, place the magazine well and bottom metal in the stock.

  • Check that the magazine well sits correctly in the slot of the bottom metal. If it does not, the bottom metal will bend when you torque up the action screws.

  • Insert the action screws, and tighten them loosely.

  • Adjust the torque wrench to the correct value depending on your GRS model (Please see the values below)

    • BERSERK: 44 in-lb, 5,0 nm

    • BIFROST: 46 in-lb, 5,2 nm

    • HUNTER LIGHT: 31 in-lb, 3,5 nm

    • HYBRID: 31 in-lb, 3,5 nm

    • SPORTER: 31 in-lb, 3,5 nm

    • RAGNAROK: 49 in-lb, 5,5 nm

    • WARG: 46 in-lb, 5,2 nm

  • Tighten the front screw first roughly 50%, then the rear screw. Now put the full torque value on the front screw, then the rear screw.

  • Insert the bolt, then check if it cycles correctly. (In some cases, the manufacturers use different action screw lengths, and action screws need shortening)

  • Insert the EMPTY magazine and check that it goes in and locks. If you have issues with closing the hinged floor plate, check that the magazine well is placed correctly.

  • Go to the range and re-zero your rifle. The point of impact might have shifted. (GRS stocks take recoil different than other stocks)
